FOUND FOOTAGE FILM

For my found footage film, the majority of the footage is taken from old home videos and TV commercials from the 1970’s that I found on YouTube. I really enjoy the 70’s film aesthetic and wanted to see what I could create with the footage. All of the content I used was produced in the 70’s except for the final two clips that were recent Black Lives Matter protests. Playing with experimental film elements like layering footage and placing dialogue over different clips, I was able to convey a commentary on race and create a surreal acceptance in an era that wasn’t as accepting as society today.
