My moving image project focuses on three main elements; the ocean, family and friends. I obtained most of the shots in the late afternoon to source the colourful and warm lighting. Due to lack of equipment I used my iPhone Xs mainly to record the footage and relied on natural lighting, thus why I shot mainly during sunset periods to add vibrant colours. I chose to have a confusion of voices, original music and ambient noise to represent the messy atmosphere of my everyday life. Overlaying conversations with the sound of the ocean to evoke a sense of my costal town and experience. I re-edited several times, playing with the sequence, before deciding to start with family then finishing with friends while incorporating the landscape of where I’m from throughout to maintain the importance of the ocean as the basis of where I’m from.
