To reflect George Ella Lyon’s Poem, “Where I’m from,” for my Lumiere film I wanted to include; my hometown, family and friends. The scenes reflect how I remember where I’m from, as a sequence of memories that I envision when I think of home. I decided to start slow with landscapes to emulate my quiet coastal town, then developed that by using different times of day and weather. Then intergrading bigger movements when introducing my cat and family, then quickening the pace for my loud, erratic friends, while maintaining an ocean theme throughout to anchor the basis of where I’m from.
